YOUR ROLE
The LMS Support Officer plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the Learning Management System (LMS) used across MACS to support the professional learning and development of over 18,000 school and office-based staff.
Reporting to the eLearning Lead, this position ensures the LMS is well-configured, integrated with key enterprise systems, and accessible to users across the organisation.
You will be responsible for system administration, front-end customisation using CSS/JavaScript, API integrations, user support, and data reporting. You will collaborate closely with instructional designers, vendors, and IT teams to ensure the platform meets evolving learning and compliance needs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Administer and maintain the LMS platform (Canvas), including user accounts, enrolments, roles, and permissions.
- Develop and manage API integrations with enterprise systems (HRIS, SIS, identity management).
- Customise front-end interfaces using CSS and JavaScript to optimise user experience.
- Upload and test course content and resources in collaboration with instructional designers.
- Generate and analyse LMS usage reports and dashboards to support decision-making.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate to internal teams or vendors as needed.
- Liaise with platform vendors for updates, patches, and new feature rollouts.
- Maintain system security, data integrity, and compliance with child safety standards.
- Provide support and training for end users, including creating help documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of LMS processes and best practice standards.
ABOUT YOU
- You bring strong technical knowledge of Learning Management Systems, especially Canvas.
- You have hands-on experience with LMS administration, user support, and content management.
- You have proven skills in web development (CSS, JavaScript) and building API integrations.
- You’re analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to produce accurate reporting and dashboards.
- You’re an effective communicator, comfortable supporting non-technical users.
- You are organised, self-directed, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- You demonstrate a commitment to confidentiality, data integrity, and the values of Catholic education.
