Senior Genomics Research Coordinator - Quality Control
This is a jointly funded 1 FTE role: 0.75 FTE with Flinders University and 0.25 FTE with South Australian Genomics Centre (SAGC), based at SAHMRI. The successful candidate will have employment agreements with both Flinders University and SAGC. Fixed Term until December 2026 | Full time (0.75FTE with Flinders University | 0.25FTE with SAGC). Location: Bedford Park & SAHMRI / Kaurna Country.
Base pay range: A$100,233.00/yr - A$110,954.00/yr pro rata.
Role focus: lead SAGC\'s quality management system (QMS), ensure alignment with NATA accreditation standards and ISO/IEC 17025, and drive expansion to ISO/IEC 15189 for medical testing to reinforce accuracy and reliability of genomic services.
Responsibilities
- Lead SAGC\'s QMS and drive ISO accreditation initiatives.
- Identify and implement process improvements in the genomics laboratory to optimise operational efficiency and reduce risk.
- Support delivery of genomic services within a robust quality framework that meets industry standards and stakeholder expectations.
- Coordinate across multiple projects and collaborate with teams to maintain high-quality service delivery.
About You / Qualifications
- A bachelor\'s degree with Honours or higher in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Laboratory Science, or Quality Management (or equivalent).
- Experience in genomics facility settings and understanding of their operational context.
- Demonstrated expertise in audits, corrective actions, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Additional qualifications in quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards, auditing).
- Experience contributing to ISO 15189 accreditation scope.
Context and About the Organisation
Flinders University College of Medicine and Public Health and SAGC are multi-institutional entities connected to SAHMRI. The SAGC is a national genomics facility supported by Government of South Australia and Bioplatforms Australia (BPA) via NCRIS. The role is primarily based at the Flinders campus with a node at SAHMRI.
