In this role, you'll:
Join the NSW Trains Safety Performance team and support the Senior Manager Safety Performance and collaborate with other NSW Trains stakeholders in delivering coach related safety assurance activities in line with Heavy Vehicle National Law and relevant regulatory frameworks.
You'll design and implement a fit-for-purpose safety assurance framework for coach operations, embedding coach specific requirements into SEMS and ensuring strong safety governance and legislative compliance.
You'll develop and trial coach safety assurance program across NSW Trains locations. The trial will include the testing of the developed assurance activities, identification of issues, analyse data, and produce clear, evidence based reports for Executive and governance forums. You'll manage audit scopes, schedules and reporting obligations, upskilling NSW Trains staff, ensuring findings are tracked, risks are addressed, and stakeholders receive accurate, timely insights.
This is a full time, fixed term opportunity for up to 10 months.

About you
You're an experienced Safety or Audit professional with a strong background in safety governance and assurance frameworks, ideally within a heavy vehicle regulated environment. You have sound knowledge of safety management systems, risk based auditing and regulatory compliance.
Analytical and solutions-focused, good communication skills, you bring strong investigative and problem-solving skills. You're also a confident communicator who can effectively engage stakeholders, manage competing priorities and deliver clear, high quality reports within tight timeframes.
