About the opportunity:
Join our concrete/aggregates business based in our East Perth Office and be part of a fast paced and dynamic team environment where you are key to ensuring our quality products are scheduled efficiently and delivered on time.
Our call centres are open 5am until 4pm daily, and we stagger shifts between those times. This role might suit an early starter, or someone wanting to work between school hours, for example. We are flexible with arrangements, however, looking for enthusiastic, proactive individuals to join our high performing, fun team.
In this key role you will maximise truck load sizes to achieve utilisation targets from the most economical batch plant whilst providing best possible customer service and at all times taking into account cost of cartage with decision making.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient and effective daily scheduling and oversee dispatching of deliveries to meet customer service requirements.
- Work with other schedulers, plant teams and drivers to ensure the right load into the right truck to the right job to keep informed of the plan.
- Provide constant feedback to the CSO's (Customer Service Officers) to ensure proper order placement & information to maximise truck utilisation and lower cost of cartage.
- Liaise with plant staff, account managers and site coordinators to ensure best possible customer service and ensure individual customer requirements are achieved
- Maintain up to date knowledge of assigned products, services and plant capabilities/capacity.
- Manage all fleet scheduling and ensure delivery requirements until jobs are complete.
- Engage with and coach other schedulers where required for continuous improvement for scheduling and planning.
- Capture and maintain cycle times and service interruptions to ensure continuous improvement of service levels.
- Actively seek feedback on site safety from customers, project coordinators, drivers and account managers to ensure safe site deliveries.
- Pass on any safety issues raised by customers to the appropriate Holcim personnel.
- Manage all instances that are reported by drivers in relation to accidents, near miss, site delivery activities that inhibit/restrict safe site deliveries.
About you:
- Previous experience in a customer service, scheduling, or similar role.
- Experience in logistics advantageous but not essential.
- Available to work shifts starting between 5am and 7:30am and finishing from 2pm to 4:30pm
- Availability to work every second Saturday a month, paid at overtime rates.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (experience with SAP advantageous but not essential).
- Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
