Maintenance Manager – Wollongong City Council
Wollongong City Council is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Maintenance Manager to lead critical maintenance services across the city's civil infrastructure, rock pools, fleet, plant, and metal fabrication teams.
Pay Range
Base salary: $141,077 – $166,182 per annum, plus superannuation and optional motor vehicle equalisation or lease.
A 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance may also apply.
Responsibilities
Embed a safety-first culture across maintenance and workshop teams, ensuring WHS & Environment compliance.
Organise, schedule, prioritise and coordinate delivery of maintenance for all civil assets (footpaths, roads, kerb, gutters, stormwater, rockpools, carparks, cycleways, pathways).
Oversee operations and continuous improvement of Council's workshop, fleet, plant, equipment and metal fabrication (boilermakers).
Lead response to community incidents and act as Council's liaison for emergency services.
Collaborate with Infrastructure Strategy and Planning to enhance asset condition assessment and maintenance planning.
Implement intelligent defect management for road corridor assets.
Champion improved work-management practices to deliver efficient, high-quality, customer-focused services.
About You
Energetic leader with extensive experience in civil asset maintenance, workshop operations, and management.
Demonstrated expertise in WHS, environmental management, project management, financial oversight, and contract management.
Strong background in civil engineering or related discipline, proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans, and experience managing high-performing teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills, commitment to fostering a positive team culture, mentoring staff, and collaborating across stakeholders.
