About the Tasmanian State Service
The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the community at all levels.
We are seeking talented and enthusiastic professionals to complete their specialty training in a senior role, supporting Registrars and Resident Medical Officers. This position is best suited for a Level 5 or 6 trainee.
This accredited senior registrar role offers excellent experience in tertiary antenatal and intrapartum care, including ultrasound and labour ward management. Training in the general gynaecology unit will help consolidate surgical skills, including laparoscopic surgery, prior to entering specialist practice.
This is a unique opportunity to gain essential skills for a future in specialist practice upon completion of this appointment.
Salary Range: $134,930 - $189,005 per annum, in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022 .
Classification: Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 (Registrar/Senior Registrar)
Award: Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award
Period of Employment: Fixed-term, full-time, day work, 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours protected training time (pro-rata), from 2 February 2026 to 1 February 2027.

* Current Working with Children Registration (if applicable).

Highly Desirable: Successful completion of the RANZCOG examination.
