About the role
The Senior Programs Officer (Aboriginal Outcomes) is a strategic advisory and project leadership role, focused on ensuring that disaster recovery and housing programs are successfully delivered for Aboriginal communities in the Northern Rivers.
This role works across the Authority's Resilient Homes and Resilient Lands programs, focussed on outcomes for the cultural, social, and economic needs of the Aboriginal communities.
This is an Aboriginal Identified role where Aboriginal identity, cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. Positions are specifically noted under the provisions of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act
About You
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal communities and businesses, delivering place-based development programs and services. They will bring community centred connections with Aboriginal stakeholders in the Northern Rivers and/or demonstrate the ability to develop these relationships.
It is critical that the candidate understands Aboriginal procurement practice and has strong project management skills, along with an understanding of the social and economic issues impacting Aboriginal people and communities in Northern NSW.
Essential Requirements
* This is an Identified role under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and as such Aboriginality is an essential requirement of the role. Aboriginal identified positions are developed where Aboriginal identity, cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation and executive agency of the Premier's Department, that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.
