Job Overview
As an Official Visitor, you will play a vital role in promoting the welfare and well-being of inmates in custodial centres throughout New South Wales. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals in need.
Successful applicants will be assigned to one custodial centre for up to four years, where they will conduct regular visits to monitor the conditions and treatment of inmates. Your primary responsibility will be to resolve enquiries and complaints made by inmates and ensure their rights are protected.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strong report writing skills and computer literacy are also essential.
Additionally, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
* Ability to travel to attend training or corporate activities when required
* Report writing skills, computer skills, and access to the internet and email

This is a community-based appointment under the NSW Government Boards and Committees framework. The time commitment for this role is approximately one day a fortnight or one day a month.
