THE ROLEReporting to the Principal Advisor, Children, Families and NDIS Coordination, the Senior Advisor role supports the oversight of the operational National Disability Insurance Scheme interface for children and families.
The position is critical to the monitoring, implementation and oversight of program and business management processes in relation to children with disability in statutory and voluntary care, including implementation of the state's commitment under its MoU with the NDIA in relation to children with complex disability support needs.
It plays a key role in liaison between the department and the NDIA in relation to the interface with children with a disability, and with operational divisions responsible for program implementation.
The position requires a motivated and flexible individual who operates well in a dynamic work environment with multiple stakeholders, often with incomplete information and competing priorities and commitments.ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE * * Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of a coordinated departmental response to children and young people with a disability at risk of, or requiring, supports outside the family home; or involved with the statutory system.
* Develop and maintain program resources for the disability practice advice workforce to support state-wide consistency and practice improvement.
