Overview

At Scyne, we are public purpose sector specialists who support governments and their agencies, and not-for-profit organisations, to deliver services to Australians, helping to build more resilient, equitable, secure and prosperous communities. We are guided by our values of Stronger Together, Amplify Impact, Build Trusted Relationships, Value Every Person, Think Beyond Limits, and Defined by Ethics.

Our purpose-driven professionals provide clients with access to the skills, capabilities and expertise to support the delivery of government agendas and public purpose projects, with specialist teams across three national practices: Transformation, Risk, Programs and Cyber, and Commercial, Financial and Infrastructure. Our Transformation Practice brings together the skills and capabilities to support our clients to address their big agendas and deliver transformation programs, and encompasses: Business & Experience, Capability & Change, Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Execution & Enablement.

We are excited to announce newly created opportunities in our Transformation Practice’s Defence team, located in Canberra. As a client-facing consultant, you’ll play a crucial role in providing the best possible advice, services and support to help our Defence clients achieve their primary role of defending Australia and its national interests, promoting security and stability, and supporting the Australian community as directed by the Government.

We are looking for passionate individuals with diverse backgrounds who can bring new perspectives to support our clients to address critical challenges. Our Business & Experience team in the Transformation practice provides multi-disciplinary expertise to help clients envision, design and deliver the capabilities needed to achieve their strategic objectives. We work across elements including: Capability definition, design, development and costing; and Business requirements and process mapping.

You may be already a consulting professional looking to grow your skills, someone involved in delivering outcomes for Government and Defence who wants to grow a career in the Defence sector, or a consultant looking to specialise in a specific discipline. No matter your current role, we are looking for people who are collaborative and enjoy working as a team. You will have a growth mindset – interested in asking questions, challenging thinking, and bringing new ideas to the table.

As a permanent member of our team, you’ll have the chance to develop your consulting skills and experience, and advance your career as a trusted advisor to Defence. You’ll also benefit from mentorship by industry leaders, helping you build on your existing expertise.

As a Senior Associate, you help conduct the research, analysis and stakeholder engagement needed to generate insights, develop high quality client deliverables and contribute to a positive client experience. You will also bring intellectual curiosity and a client-first mindset to every engagement. You will be provided with mentoring and coaching by more experienced consultants to enable you to thrive in the role.

As a Manager, you will lead project workstreams to deliver client outcomes within broader client engagements. You will have a clear understanding of the objectives of the engagement, structure the problem-solving approach for your workstream, and drive the design and development of high-quality client deliverables while contributing to a positive team and client experience.

Technically, some of your experiences could include the below:

- Expertise in Systems Engineering, procurement, cost estimation, workforce planning or organisational change
- Technology, digital strategy and advisory experience, with proven delivery excellence on client engagements in the Defence / intelligence arena
- Experience working in a consulting or technology advisory setting (internal/external) contributing to or managing major projects, particularly in capability development and acquisition would be highly regarded
