About The Service
Hunter Genetics delivers both a General Genetics Service and the GOLD (Genetics of Learning Disability) Service, providing comprehensive, patient‐centred care to the community.
Located at the Waratah Campus on Turton Road, our service is within walking distance of Waratah Shopping Village and offers convenient free on‐ and off‐street parking directly outside the building.
Our multidisciplinary team includes Clinical Geneticists, Genetic Counsellors and a dedicated Administration Team who work collaboratively to deliver high‐quality, coordinated genetic services across Newcastle and Sydney. About The Role
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of specialist genetic services while providing exceptional support to clinicians and patients alike.
What You'll Be Doing
* Providing high‐quality customer service as a first point of contact
* Managing patient data entry and maintaining confidential records
* Coordinating appointments, clinician diaries and travel arrangements
* Preparing and typing correspondence, reports, agendas and meeting minutes
* Coordinating clinics and supporting reception services
* Processing financial transactions, receipting and purchase orders
* Supporting admissions processes and maintaining accurate patient financial records
* Assisting with payroll, recruitment administration and purchasing processes
* Maintaining records management systems in line with legislative requirements
* Collaborating with the broader Administration Team to provide cross‐coverage and support
About You
You are a highly organised and motivated administration professional who thrives in a busy healthcare environment and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

* High‐level written and verbal communication skills
* Professional and sensitive communication with patients, clinicians and stakeholders
* Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Excellent attention to detail, particularly in data entry and records management
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management systems
