About the role
Join the team at Fraser Coast Disability Services Pty Ltd as a SIL Disability Support Worker, providing hands-on assistance and support to participants with a range of disabilities in the Hervey Bay region. This is a casual role, allowing flexibility to work around your schedule. This role may become a permanent role for the right person.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting participants with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
* Providing support for daily living activities including meal preparation, housekeeping, and running errands
* Engaging participants in recreational, social, and educational activities to promote their wellbeing
* Documenting participant progress and ensuring detailed records are maintained
* Adhering to all organisational policies, procedures, and safety protocols
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised support plans
Essential- MUST be able to work a 24/7 roster including 6am starts & sleepover shifts.
What we're looking for
* Experience providing direct care and support to individuals with complex disabilities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with participants
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others
* A flexible and adaptable approach, able to respond to the unique needs of each participant
* A current driver's licence and reliable transportation
