We are seeking a skilled and proactive External Auditor with experience in team mentoring, workflow management & supervision to join our Audit & Assurance team for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This role offers the opportunity to support a dedicated team ensuring the accuracy and transparency of client financial information.

The team

Our dedicated Audit & Assurance team works with clients to achieve strategic objectives and meet compliance and risk management obligations through the examination of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

The role

The Supervisor Audit & Assurance supports the Manager by completing complex audit procedures and reviewing work to ensure delivery of quality and timely external audit engagements. They prepare comprehensive audit reports, communicate findings and work closely with clients to resolve concerns while delegating to and mentoring team members. Responsibilities include:

- Reviewing work by auditors for accuracy and timeliness.
- Conducting detailed examinations of financial records, systems and controls to reduce the risk of material misstatement.
- Improving team efficiency by delegating tasks effectively and guiding team task completion in line with procedures.
- Analyzing financial data, including income statements, balance sheets and cash‑flow statements, to assess accuracy and consistency.
- Reviewing understanding of business processes and internal controls, identifying weaknesses, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Reviewing comprehensive audit reports detailing findings, conclusions, risks, root causes and recommendations for clients' management and stakeholders, primarily focusing on high‑risk items.
- Leading the development and improvement of audit methodologies and tools.
- Communicating and presenting audit results and findings to clients.
- Fostering a positive, collaborative team environment.
- Identifying and suggesting process improvements for clients and the firm.
- Collaborating with other teams to promote inter‑departmental support.
- Assisting clients in audits for smooth, efficient processes.
- Offering constructive performance feedback to drive improvement.
- Performing tasks essential to department and firm operations.

About you

The successful candidate will have :

- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
- Completed or pursuing CA (Chartered Accountant), CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) qualification or equivalent.
- Significant experience in external auditing, preferably in a public practice or consulting environment.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial reporting and financial analysis techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills to evaluate financial data.
- The ability to analyse and interpret financial statements.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and financial management systems.
- Outstanding written and spoken communication skills, comfortable communicating with individuals across all levels of an organisation.
- Extensive experience in writing reports, observations and communicating results and outcomes to varied audiences.
- A commitment to and understanding of the importance of relationship building with colleagues, community and clients.
