Job Description for Substation Operations Technician
The primary function of the Substation Operations Technician is to act as the first and lead responder to all Network Primary Plant faults. They will coordinate onsite resources in line with the Plant Failure Attendance, Investigation and Return to Service Process.
This role involves delivering network switching services and project/program outage organization to customers within and external to Western Power. The technician will prepare, coordinate and execute complex switching programs, providing technical support and specialist advice on Switching Operations and network access matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Taking personal accountability for safety in the work environment.
* Ensuring safe work practices are followed and maintaining a safe work environment.
* Managing complex outages affecting critical customers subject to AEMO scrutiny.
This position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
