Job Summary
This role is focused on developing and implementing asset lifecycle plans, ensuring reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance for substations as part of the transmission network.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expertise in the development of Asset Class Strategies, Asset Design Manuals, Maintenance Strategies, and Functional Requirements.
* Review capability and authority for deviations from existing standards and adoption of new practices related to detailed design, plant selection, and acceptance.
* Manage existing and emerging risks associated with construction, commissioning, installation, testing, and operation.
* Support the Asset Investment function by assisting the delivery team from planning through to handover as the owner customer.
* Provide technical leadership for substation services and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory performance obligations and network operation requirements.
* Act as Principal Engineer by providing oversight and leadership to the Technical Authority across the business and applying deep technical expertise within the specialist area.
Requirements
* A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia.
* Experience in the energy industry (transmission, distribution, or generation).
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English.
* Ability to work autonomously in a rapidly changing environment.
* Knowledge of commercial and contracting requirements; experience in reliability engineering (statistical analysis) is highly desirable.
