Youth Worker/Team Member – Stanthorpe (October Intake) – Casual Team Members. Start Date: 13 October 2025. Based at therapeutic rural properties, supporting Children and Young People living in Residential Out-of-Home Care with a technology-reduced model of care. The role focuses on engaging with and supporting Children and Young People who exhibit challenging behaviors to help them achieve social, educational, cultural, and emotional goals, and to oversee their daily care.
Responsibilities
 * Provide hands-on support in teaching life skills to Young People (e.g., cooking, cleaning, budgeting, homework, personal care, appointments, sports, schooling)
 * Develop support documentation, including Positive Behaviour Support Plans and progress reports
 * Assess and support the developmental progress of Young People
 * Liaise with and report to stakeholders to share information, contribute to planning, and ensure outcomes
 * Create activity plans and facilitate community engagement for the Young Person
 * Safely support behaviours using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques

Essential Requirements
 * Current Australian Driver's Licence (Open or P2)
 * Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent (or actively working towards it)
 * Availability for shift work (24-hour model), including weekdays, weekends, and sleepovers as scheduled
 * Approved Licensed Care Service (LSC) check through the department, or ability to obtain one
 * Current Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one
 * Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them
 * Flexibility to meet the organisation's needs
 * Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet timeframes and targets
 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation, organization, and reporting
 * Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite
 * Provide two recent professional references
Desirable Attributes
 * Understanding of trauma-informed practices
 * Previous Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training
 * Completion of Hope & Healing modules
 * Experience working directly with children and families in a support role
 * Current Licensed Care Service (LCS) check through the Department
 * Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn
