Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) is a consortium comprising of industry leading Tier 1 organisations – John Holland, Service Stream and WSP. Sydney Water (SW) has partnered with D4C to deliver design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services across their southern region - from Bondi to Gerringong, and out to Georges River.
D4C is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our dynamic, diverse and high performing team. This full time permanent opportunity is based in Wollongong, and we need your skills and expertise to help Sydney Water deliver a $34 billion dollar program over the next 10 years to build, maintain and protect the future of our iconic water resources.
Primary Purpose
The Quality Engineer ensures the quality standards and specifications of the construction product and services are always adhered to. They assist and support by coaching, guiding and mentoring the construction team in relation to meeting the D4C/SW quality requirements for construction and maintenance projects.
A key function of the role is to facilitate and coordinate the review and approval of supply-chain materials, including concrete and other construction materials, ensuring procurement, placement, and compliance are in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
Assist in assessing Quality Management Systems of contractors tendering for D4C in collaboration with Business Manager / Project Manager and Site
Review, coordinate, and endorse supply-chain material approvals, including concrete mix designs and construction materials, ensuring procurement, delivery, placement, and verification processes comply with D4C/SW requirements, project specifications, and applicable standards.
Implement and drive the Quality Management System, Program and processes on projects to meet appropriate standards.
Implement (QMS) standards, guidelines, processes and procedures as required including document control, auditing, corrective and preventive action, and training processes.
Carry out incident investigations in a timely and accurate manner
Deliver quality training programs as required including site inductions.
Ensure non-conformances are reported, and are documented, approved and closed out within the required time frames
Co-ordinate corrective actions and continuous improvement activities for projects together in collaboration with the construction team.
Assist in the facilitation of external audits as required.
Essential:
Bachelors degree in engineering
Internal auditor training
Current drivers licence
Minimum 5 years' experience in similar role
Current knowledge of relative legislation
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
