Job Description
The Programming and Delivery Manager plays a key role in leading the delivery of complex capital projects across the City of Hobart. This involves overseeing the annual capital works program, providing strategic leadership to multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring seamless end-to-end project delivery through contemporary project management practices.
This role is responsible for shaping and reviewing the City's long-term works program, aligning it with strategic goals and future infrastructure needs. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams, manage contracts, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with safety and building standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Align programs with Council's strategic direction and community aspirations.
* Apply political, social, and legal awareness to all initiatives.
* Identify strategic risks and opportunities impacting the organization.
* Provide high-level advice to stakeholders to enhance project planning and delivery.
* Lead the delivery of the approved capital works program, ensuring innovation and risk mitigation.
* Oversee project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet technical, safety, and environmental standards.
* Coordinate cross-functional teams and consultants to ensure cohesive project execution.
* Inspire a culture of innovation, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
* Promote cross-divisional collaboration for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
* Foster a community-first approach through proactive stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* Current Driver Licence.
* White Card.
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience in delivery of capital projects in local government environment.
* Additional studies in business, finance, urban planning, and/or management.
