Bay Kebabs is seeking a reliable and motivated Night Manager to lead evening operations and ensure smooth, efficient service during late-night trade.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone confident managing staff, making decisions under pressure, and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Management
* Supervise and lead staff on shift to maintain high performance and professionalism
* Train and develop team members to ensure all roles are covered effectively
* Adjust staffing levels based on trade (send staff home early or call in additional support as required)
* Monitor staff performance and address any issues through training or disciplinary action
* Maintain team motivation during both busy and quiet periods
Operations
* Oversee all aspects of shift operations to ensure efficient service and quality standards
* Allocate roles at the beginning of each shift, particularly during peak periods
* Plan for varying trade levels, including seasonal changes and local events
* Ensure high standards of customer service and resolve any complaints professionally
* Make informed decisions on closing times in line with business needs
Safety & Security
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff at all times
* Manage and de-escalate difficult situations with customers when required
* Follow procedures for handling intoxicated or aggressive individuals
* Maintain strict cash handling and security procedures, including locking registers and premises
Communication
* Maintain regular communication with management regarding staff performance and operations
* Provide updates via messaging or meetings as required
* Contribute to ongoing improvements in team performance and shift efficiency
About You
* Previous experience in hospitality or a supervisory role
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
* Confident handling high-pressure and late-night environments
* Reliable, responsible, and proactive
