– Newcastle & Hunter Valley – About us Being Mentors is a registered NDIS Provider servicing the greater Northern Territory, South East Queensland, Far North Queensland, Northern New South Wales, South Australia (Adelaide) and Victoria (Melbourne) regions. Our team have experience with a variety of different fields such as disability support work, positive behaviour support, education, and community engagement. Position Overview The Mentor plays a vital role within our organisation with the main responsibility of maintaining a culture committed to providing quality services. The duties of the Mentor include, but are not limited to: Comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct. Providing emotional and practical support. Assisting participants with domestic and personal care tasks. Tending to their healthcare needs. Supporting them to pursue hobbies and interests – community access. Completion of mandatory shift notes after each shift. Assisting in the completion of Participant Care Plans and understanding participant goals. Effectively communicating with their Team Leader. Qualifications and/ ideal attributes Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS framework. A strong personal brand displaying a strong set of values, integrity and a commitment to professionalism and accountability. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Current Driver’s License. Comprehensive Car Insurance. Completed NDIS Worker Screening process (or will be required to independently obtain). Completed Working with Children check (or will be required to independently obtain). Current Certificate in the discipline of service provision is desired but not required.
