We're seeking a Principal Engineer to lead technical excellence across our most critical programs. This role blends strategic influence with deep technical execution. You'll not only guide engineering direction but also stay close to the code, lead architectural decisions, and solve the hardest problems side by side with your team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead from the front: design and build complex, high-scale distributed systems using .NET Core, C#, React, and AWS.
* Stay hands‑on with architecture, prototyping, and critical path development work.
* Provide deep expertise in CI/CD.
* Drive engineering strategy, set technical standards, and ensure system quality at scale.
* Act as a trusted advisor to cross‑functional teams, helping solve their toughest technical challenges.
* Conduct architectural reviews, deep code reviews, and provide performance and scalability guidance.
* Mentor Staff Engineers, building a culture of craftsmanship and ownership.
* Partner with business and product leaders to align engineering strategy with business goals.
* Represent the engineering function in executive and client‑facing settings.
What You Bring
* Proven experience as an engineering leader with a focus on hands‑on delivery.
* Deep technical expertise in .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET, Entity Framework, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
* Strong coding skills and system design experience in high‑scale environments.
* Ability to dive deep into technical problems while maintaining a high‑level strategic perspective.
* Track record of delivering platform‑level architecture and technical leadership in complex organisations.
* Passion for engineering excellence, mentoring others, and staying on the tools.
* Excellent communicator, capable of engaging deeply with technical teams and senior stakeholders alike.
