Senior People & Culture Advisor Role
The role plays a critical part in the company's People & Culture Team, reporting to the Safety Manager and collaborating with the broader team.
This full-time position requires a deep understanding of modern P&C practices, including industrial relations, and how they align to the people strategy, priorities, and objectives.
* Coordinate and manage employee relations issues by providing timely and consistent coaching, advice, and support to leaders and employees.
* Coach leaders and employees through application of policies and procedures to ensure harmonious and productive workplace relations are maintained, and compliance with legislative requirements is met at all times.
* Effectively interpret modern awards, policies, and procedures to provide sound advice to leaders and employees.
* Guiding and supporting leaders in the implementation of processes such as induction, performance management, leadership development, succession planning, injury management, and dispute resolution.
* Support the business with cyclical activities such as performance reviews, salary reviews, and calibration sessions.
* Be the first point of contact for income protection queries, and provide advice and guidance to employees and managers, liaising with the insurer and payroll as necessary.
* Update and continuously improve contemporary and legally compliant policies and procedures, engaging proactively with stakeholders for upliftment and implementation.
* Coordinate expatriate assignments in partnership with Global Mobility, as per policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
The successful candidate will have:
* Demonstrated success and experience working in a similar P&C role in a complex environment.
* High-level knowledge of applicable legislation, industrial relations instruments, policies, and frameworks.
* Commercially and politically astute.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence leaders to take the right approach.
* Knowledge and understanding of contemporary HR approaches.
* At least 3-5 years' experience working in P&C desirable, with 1 or 2 years working in an advisory role.
* Demonstrated ability to manage workload, prioritise work, and meet established timeframes.
* Experience with HR systems such as Workday - desirable.
Key qualifications include:
* Tertiary qualifications in HR or a related discipline and/or relevant professional experience in an equivalent role.
* Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI) membership desirable.
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline/NV1/NV2 level or have the ability to gain one.
