Senior Project Manager (Engineering)
Deliver a high-impact project on a well-known marine asset in Melbourne's Port precinct.
We're seeking a Senior Project Manager (Engineering) to oversee a major multi-disciplinary infrastructure upgrade on a prominent waterfront site. Based in Port Melbourne, this role will be responsible for all phases of project delivery – from planning and contract management through to execution and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage project planning, cost estimating, scheduling, and budget control
Administer and oversee complex, multi-disciplinary contracts
* Lead risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
* Align project outcomes with asset management plans and maintenance priorities
* Prepare and present reports and updates to senior executives and stakeholders
* Resolve industrial, contractual, and performance-related issues professionally
Skills & Experience
* Extensive project management expertise including planning, estimating, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration
* Experience in marine infrastructure, including timber structures, is advantageous
* Strong understanding of risk assessment and mitigation in project environments
* Solid understanding of asset maintenance principles and applying asset management plans
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including reporting and presenting to senior stakeholders
* Proficiency in anticipating, negotiating, and resolving industrial, contractual, and performance issues
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in project management and/or civil or structural engineering (or equivalent experience)
Eligible for membership with Engineers Australia
Strong understanding of quality management principles
* In-depth knowledge of OH&S regulations and codes of practice
