A bit about the role

The newly created role of Head of AI and Automation is multi-faceted; acting as a strategic consultant to the wider organisation, applying technical skills, business acumen and lived experience to help shape and guide where the organisation focuses it’s efforts with these emerging technologies.

With a drive to create real business value, the goal of this role is to pay for itself through responsible AI and Automation that is aligned to Casey's strategic objectives and community expectations.

What you’ll deliver

- Deliver an enterprise-wide AI and automation strategy supported by strong, ethical and transparent governance.
- Measurable business value realised by influencing, identifying, prioritising and scaling of AI and automation solutions.
- A future-ready workforce created by supporting the building of organisational capability, training and AI-related skills.
- Deliver fit-for-purpose technology foundations and reusable AI and automation assets, governance and architecture standards.
- Deliver high-performing program and project outcomes through effective leadership, stakeholder engagement and resource management.

What you’ll bring

- Strong experience in AI, automation, solution design and enterprise technology architecture (preferably across Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, Copilot Studio and/or UiPath).
- Proven ability to shape strategy, scan emerging trends, and provide insight-driven guidance to senior leaders
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and consulting skills across complex organisations, with influence across executive and operational levels.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, building high-performing teams and driving organisational change, capability uplift and workforce enablement.
- Solid financial, governance and risk management acumen, with a clear understanding of the local government environment.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check & Psychometric Testing.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
