Established on July 1, 2014, through the consolidation of several port authorities.

Operating under the Port Authorities Act 1999, this entity functions as a corporatised government trading enterprise.
Its core responsibilities encompass ensuring the safe and efficient operation of port facilities, minimising environmental impacts, and planning for future growth and development to support trade and commerce.

The organisation is governed by a board appointed by the Minister for Ports, which sets strategic direction and policies.
It also emphasises community engagement, aiming to maintain a social license to operate by fostering long-term relationships with local communities and aligning its objectives with shared values.

In terms of scale, the ports under its management handle significant volumes of bulk exports, including iron ore, and are integral to the regional and national economy.

Job Description Safety & People:
Lead and implement practices that improve safety and inclusion as outlined in Leadership Capability Framework.Further a safe, inclusive, and collaborative workplace, that supports the mental health and wellbeing of self, and others.Identify actions and changes that lead to the business continually improving its safe work environment; both physically and psychologically.

Integrated Systems Management:Develop and oversee the systems that ensure the business complies with all applicable codes, as well as its legal and statutory requirements.Comply with and demonstrate a positive commitment to organisational processes and ISO Management Systems including Quality, Environment, Safety and Information Security.

ERP System Management:Understand the ERP solution across different modules and applications, end-to-end business processes and provide advice to Functional Specialists.Owner of the ERP solution.Manage all ERP system activities, prioritise and coordinate support and enhancements.Review and prioritise ERP requirements/change proposals identified by business areas.Monitor ERP vendor System and Organisation Controls (SOC) Reports and manage Organisation Discretionary System Controls relating to ERP system.Owns the ERP user role authorisation, security design and configuration, including tooling.Owns and manage the documentation of Security roles in the BPML tooling.Lead business requirement scoping and contribute to solution design and testing of associated systems, business process controls and ERP solutions.Manage implementation of enhancements to the ERP system.Coordinate engagement with business area specialists regarding ERP activities.Provide ongoing analysis, maintenance, functional support and advice on the ERP system across the business.Manage organisation-wide training and support on ERP system.Liaise with Auditors as required for ERP System audits.Manage and monitor ERP licensing consumption.

Leadership:Promote strategic direction to the ERP Team.Engage key stakeholders with relevant ERP updates including upgrade impacts, issue resolution, enhancements, requirements program progress and education.Facilitate change management and control in partnership with Business Area Specialists ensuring adherence to the organisation solution resolution process.Lead and oversee business area specific system specialists to ensure decisions and changes align with the business's strategic approach.Manage and coordinate project services and support activities delivering approved enhancement/change activities under the relevant project services and application managed services agreement(s).

Research, Analysis & Advise:Manage the review of risks and opportunities for improvement solutions, to develop realistic and effective solutions and meet business needs.Ensure current and best practice are applied in ERP system.Perform ad-hoc duties Applications Manager. Job-related experience:MUST have full Australian working rights with a drivers license and be based in Western Australia for an application to be considered.Deep functional knowledge of individual modules within the ERP and understanding the inter- relationship between modules, ideally Oracle or SAP.Proven functional experience maintaining and managing ERP systems.Strong project management skills with proven success implementing, maintaining and enhancing ERP systemsProven experience in managing and maintaining ERP databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously and meet competing deadlinesDemonstrated conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to understand business needs and identify solutions to business problems.Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with a focus on customer service, including the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and produce reports to a high standard.A high level of computer competency and report writing skills.Advanced Excel and Power BI experience would be an advantage.
