Auskick Co-ordinator Volunteer - Southern Football League

As the Auskick Co‑ordinator Volunteer, you will be the facilitator of the program and use your experiences to teach young children the joy and fun of the game.


Responsibilities

* Ensure that all Southern Football League coaches follow the code of behaviours.
* Develop the team fairly and without bias, ensuring all players receive equal playing time.
* Maintain a positive playing environment by encouraging sportsmanship, fair play, and reinforcing that the game is for fun, not for winning.
* Communicate with players at their level.
* Build relationships with players, parents, committee members, and the football community.
* Keep in touch with players' families about any changes that may affect game day (e.g., playing field and time changes).
* Contact the coaching coordinator to resolve any problems that occur during the match.
* Assist the club in running social events that involve mini players.
* Follow the AFL Next Generation Australian Football Match Policy for junior development (section on Page 17).
* Comply with the Club Administrators & Officials Code of Behaviour as outlined in the Southern Football League Inc., Official Handbook 2016, section 8.4.


Qualifications

* Need to complete a SANFL Level 1 coaching accreditation that must be obtained before the role begins.


Skills

* Ability to communicate verbally to the intended audience.
* Familiarity with the game, its rules, and how it is played.
* Strong time‑management and people‑management skills.
* Understanding of fair play and good sportsmanship.
* Knowledge and ideas about player retention and recruitment, with the ability to implement them.
* Patience and the mindset that introducing young children to the game should be fun, not competitive.


Experience

* No experience is necessary, but some experience coaching minis and managing their behaviours would be beneficial.
