Abzeco is an established ecological consulting practice that’s now backed by the additional resources of the PF Olsen group. With offices in Bundoora, Ivanhoe and a specialist field crew (20+) based in our Sunshine depot, Abzeco's core ecological services include:
* flora and fauna surveys and monitoring (including threatened species, EVCs, threats and weeds)
* accredited Vegetation Quality (Habitat Hectare) Assessments & Biodiversity Assessment Reports
* land management plans & bushfire management plans
* offset site registration (including offset site assessments, preparation of offset management plans and annual reporting and monitoring templates)
* annual offset site management, monitoring and reporting
* ecological land management and restoration (preparation of plans and management schedules, implementation, and monitoring)
* salvage and translocation of threatened flora and fauna species
* high-resolution ArcGIS mapping
Abzeco is also a registered offset broker of native vegetation credits.

Given Abzecos current trajectory and new ownership, we're in the unique position to accommodate two flexible Senior Ecologist roles that we can tailor from the following core activities:
* Delivering client projects that leverage your senior experience
* Leading a broad range on infield survey & monitoring activities
* Providing technical support / development for other Ecologists / Field Ecologists in the team
* Providing technical client advice
* Developing effective client proposals
* Internal peer review of client reports
To be considered for this role, you will have:
* Minimum ten years' experience working as an environmental consultant in a range of locations across Victoria undertaking work including general and targeted flora surveys, habitat hectare assessments, flora monitoring and the relevant reporting.
* Current VQA accreditation, competency and experience gained from undertaking multiple habitat hectare assessments.
* Tertiary qualifications in botany, ecology, environmental science, environmental management, natural resource management or a related field.
* A high level of plant identification skills and experience in determining EVCs across Victoria.
* Experience in undertaking report reviews and managing and mentoring junior staff.
* A good working knowledge of Commonwealth and Victorian legislation and local government planning laws and policy.
* A current Victorian drivers licence with 4WD experience.
