Chemotherapy Registered Nurse - Oncology

We are seeking passionate, flexible, and dynamic Haematology/Oncology Registered Nurses with strong acute experience to join our Epworth Geelong 5 West team on our 32-bed Medical/Oncology ward at Epworth Geelong. You will join a comprehensive medical oncology department and be part of an exceptionally patient-focused team who are passionate about providing individualized care.

A Chemotherapy nurse's primary responsibility is to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. This includes administering chemotherapy, monitoring for side effects, educating patients and their families, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

You are an experienced oncology and/or haematology nurse registered nurse, passionate about patient care and achieving high-quality clinical outcomes. A strong communicator, you have a supportive and engaging style that enables you to easily build rapport with patients and their families. You enjoy collaborating with team members, with strength in supporting the development and growth of your team by assisting, supporting, and educating current Oncology Nurses. You are invested in your career and are seeking to partake in career development pathways.

The following opportunities exist for you to work in a permanent capacity responsible for providing evidence-based Oncology and Haematology care to our patients:

* Option 1: Part-time 0.6 (core hours) - Chemotherapy Registered Nurse – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:30 am – 5 pm
* Option 2: Full-time or part-time (rotation shift roster) - Chemotherapy Registered Nurse

You will make an impact by:

* Delivering high-quality nursing care and an exceptional patient experience within the Medical/Oncology Unit
* Utilising a reflective, critical thinking, and evidence-based approach to the clinical care of patients
* Offering education and support to patients and their families
* Role modelling empathy to patients, families, and the medical team
* Ensuring patient flow is managed whilst providing high standards of patient care

To be successful in this role:

* Hold current nursing registration with AHPRA
* Minimum 4 years' experience in an acute care setting, including Oncology experience
* Current Chemotherapy competency and EVIQ/ADAC certificate
* Contemporary knowledge of best practices in cancer nursing care
* Postgraduate qualifications in Oncology or working towards them (desirable)
* Experience administering chemotherapy medications safely and accurately, following specific protocols and guidelines
* Experience assessing patients' physical and emotional well-being, monitoring for side effects, and providing support when managing these effects
* Demonstrate compassion, critical thinking, and a collaborative approach to patient care

The annual salary range for full-time Registered Nurses is AUD $68,212 - $95,776 + super + entitlements, depending on registration type, year level, and position/experience (prorated for part-time).
