What you'll be doing The Exercise and Training Support Services program is a key component of the Collective and Individual Training Support Services (CITSS). It delivers realistic exercise and training scenarios to support individual and collective training objectives, with the goal of achieving workforce generation outcomes. This program includes: Designing and executing advanced exercises. Delivering specialised advanced training. The services enable collective and individual military training at strategic, operational, and tactical levels through the following sub-service categories: Specialist Planning (Levels 4–6) Integrate into joint or single-service formation-level headquarters. Support deliverables in joint and staff military appreciation processes. Provide executive briefings, operational orders, workshops, reports, and presentations. Operational Analysis (Level 3) Design and deliver holistic training and exercises focused on operational analysis. Tactical Analysis (Level 2) Deliver training on tactical analysis. Collect data to support small unit objectives and enable training outcomes. Design tactical analysis exercises to meet designated training objectives. Conduct post-activity reviews to enhance future performance. Direct and lead training to achieve designated outcomes, including coordinating supporting elements. Design military exercises tailored to training objectives. Collect and compile exercise feedback and translate it into actionable improvements. Coaching/Mentoring (Levels 3–6) Provide performance coaching grounded in behavioural science and non-military frameworks. Offer coaching in diverse locations and settings to support realistic training. What will make you successful in this role? Minimum Qualifications Current Baseline or Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Security Clearance (or higher) Experience working with the Australian Government or Defence Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities Strong problem-solving capabilities Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic and driven team Role-Specific Requirements Specialist Planning (Levels 4–6): Comprehensive understanding of strategic and operational environments. Operational Analysis (Level 3): Strong understanding of operational and tactical environments; skilled in data collection, analysis, and review. Tactical Analysis (Level 2): Proficient in data collection, analysis, and review. Exercise Planning (Levels 2–6): Well-practised in the Military Appreciation Process.
