Salary: $80 an hour + Super + Living Away From Home Allowance + Salary Packaging
Location: Remote Island off the coast of Australia
Travel and Accommodation: Included
Contract: 3 months/12 weeks
Hours: Full Time
About The Role
We have a FANTASTIC and RARE opportunity for an experienced locum Social Worker to work on a remote island off the coast of Australia. You will work within a small multi-purpose facility that compromises a 14-bed aged care facility and a 7 bed acute setting. We are looking for an experienced Social Worker with a background in rural generalist social work, who is able to work autonomously and efficiently within a small multi-disciplinary team.
As we currently have an ageing population with 25% being over 65 years of age, it’s essential that you have a good understanding of aged care, being conversant with the relevant legislation and future planning. The case work can vary, and you could be working within the area of domestic violence, to grief and loss, onto a family meeting on the ward, or to report writing. We are looking for an all-rounder who has experience working within hospital systems.
Essential Criteria
- Must be a Social Worker with AASW eligibility
- Strong aged care background, working with clients 65+
- Experience needed working within the generalist Social Work space
- Background working in hospital settings including inpatient, outcome, as well as mental health
- National Police Check or willingness to obtain one
- Covid-19 vaccinated
