**Fleet Technician Position Overview**
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet of vehicles.
Responsibilities:
Our ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with diesel engines. Key responsibilities include:
* Inspecting and testing vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure they are working safely and properly
* Conducting routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
* Troubleshooting fuel, ignition, and emissions control systems using electronic diagnostics
* Tuning engines to ensure proper and efficient functioning
* Repairing or replacing defective parts as needed
* Managing and controlling spare parts inventory
* Coordinating services and repairs performed by contractors/service providers in consultation with operations to minimize impact on the business
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Demonstrated success in a similar role, preferably in a diesel mechanic position
* Mechanical trade qualifications
* Heavy rigid license, or ability to obtain one
* Proven diagnostic skills
* Electrical and PLC's knowledge is essential
* Good written and verbal skills and computer proficiency (MS Excel and Word)
* Ability to work flexible shifts and OT as needed to fulfill requirements of the role
