About the Role
UTS is seeking a dedicated Audio Visual (AV) Technician to join our dynamic AV Services team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation, maintenance, and enhancement of AV technologies across the university. As an AV Technician, you will work closely with the AV Operations Manager and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality AV support for teaching spaces and professional meeting rooms. With a focus on innovation and continuous improvement, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant, technology-driven academic environment.
Priorities of the Role
As an Audio Visual Technician at UTS, you will focus on ensuring that all AV systems in teaching spaces and meeting rooms are operational and ready for use. You will provide Tier 1 (remote) and Tier 2 (onsite) support, diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently. A key part of your role will involve coordinating the setup and operation of AV systems for teaching and learning activities. You will also be responsible for proactively maintaining AV equipment, monitoring system health, and managing inventory. Supporting hybrid meeting setups and assisting with advanced AV applications will be essential, as will collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective AV solutions. Your work will centre on delivering reliable, high-quality AV services that enhance the university’s operations and user experience.
About You
* Demonstrated knowledge of AV technologies, including audio, video, and control equipment.
* Experience supporting AV users with varying levels of technical proficiency.
* Ability to coordinate maintenance activities while adapting to teaching schedules.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.

Base Salary Range: $82,666 to $103,828 pa (HEW 5/6)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.
