About the role
ACT Lung and Sleep is an established and busy Medical Specialist Clinic. We are seeking a part-time Home Sleep Study Technician to join our diverse, friendly and dedicated team in Bruce, ACT. As a Home Sleep Study Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive sleep assessment services to our patients, ensuring they receive high-quality care and support.
What you'll be doing
* Instructing patients on the proper use and application of home sleep study devices from weekdays approx. 5 PM to 8:30 PM (overnight shifts are not required)
* Setting up home sleep study (level 2 polysomnography using Compumedics Somte devices) on patients
* Monitoring of data from home sleep studies to identify sleep disorders during set-up (ability to score or analyse sleep studies is not essential)
* Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop personalised treatment plans for patients
* Maintaining detailed records and preparing comprehensive reports on patient sleep studies
* Providing excellent customer service and support to patients throughout the sleep study process
* Adhering to all relevant medical and safety protocols to ensure patient wellbeing
What we're looking for
* Relevant qualifications and experience in sleep study technology or a related field
* Minimum 6-12 months of experience in sleep study technology is required
* Basic understanding of sleep disorders and the latest diagnostic and treatment methods
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with patients and healthcare providers
* Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to accurately interpret and analyse sleep study data
* Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centred care and support
* Flexibility to work in a part-time capacity and adapt to the needs of the business
