The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Maintenance Officer/Gardener to join our Retirement Living business, based at our Forest Lake - The Terraces Village, QLD.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and customer service focused Maintenance Officer to join their team on a part-time basis, working on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 7am to 3pm.
Working under the guidance of the Village Manager, the Maintenance Officer/Gardener is responsible for the execution of the maintenance activity within the village in accordance with existing frameworks and budget ensuring all work is carried out following the correct procedures. Part of your role may also include basic groundskeeping, general lawn, garden and property maintenance, ensuring the village is properly kept for the enjoyment of the residents. As you will be working alongside our residents, a customer-service focus is essential, along with a genuine interest in assisting the elderly.
To be successful you must have:
- Demonstrated experience in General Maintenance works as a handyperson or experience within maintenance role, servicing multi-property sites.- Demonstrated competence as a Gardener - weeding, pruning, planting, mowing (preferable)- Understanding of machinery use and tools required for the job- High organisation skills and the ability to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks whilst working independently- Strong customer service and team focus- Knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety legislation- Level 2 First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain one).- MR or above licence (desirable).

Please note: The successful applicant must complete a Police Check & will be required to receive an annual flu vaccination between the months of April-October.
