Subcontract Specialist – BAE Systems Australia
Overview
At BAE Systems Australia you will work on the Hunter Class Frigates Program line of business, delivering cost, schedule, quality and safety outcomes through effective contracting and supplier relationship management.
You can be based in Adelaide, Melbourne, or another capital city.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Subcontracts Manager, you will establish, support, manage and execute contracting arrangements, ensuring value and risk are balanced.
Flexible work arrangements such as a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working are supported.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the supplier evaluation process and support sourcing recommendations.
Assist supplier negotiations and finalize agreements, subcontracts and purchase orders following procedures and Delegations of Authority.
Facilitate commercial subcontract meetings, ensuring contractual changes meet time-frames, safety, quality, risk and budget requirements.
Manage all subcontract-related matters: progress claims, payment valuations, warranties, notices, variations and contract amendments.
Monitor and report on subcontractor cost forecasts and value, including preliminaries.
Interface with the line-of-business Commercial Manager to align head contract and subcontracts, handling flow-down/up of changes.
Promote leading procurement practices across the team and projects.
About You
Prior defense experience is a significant advantage.
A Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification is advantageous.
Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to build relationships within a project environment with key suppliers.
