A unique opportunity has become available for a Construction Worker Band B in the civil infrastructure works team. There is one permanent, full time position available, located in Cowley Beach. This means we value respect, safety, diversity, and inclusion.Key ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Construction Worker, you will support the project supervisor in the construction and maintenance of roads by performing a range of duties with limited supervision. You will support the work crew in undertaking road construction and maintenance and guide and assist other employees as part of a work team and plan complex work activities, to achieve project outcomes. You will maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and project team.Some Of Your Responsibilities Will Include:Read, interpret, and apply plans to civil infrastructure construction, rehabilitation, inspection, servicing, or maintenance procedures, with an emphasis on roads, structures, electrical and intelligent transport services, and line marking.Quantify and identify materials, subcontractors and services required during construction.Exercise high precision operative skills when using roadmaking plant, small machinery, and equipment and trade skill when performing civil construction works.Understand and meet departmental requirements for procurement of goods, services, and supplies to undertake works.About YouWe recognise and celebrate that everyone is unique and seek the applicant best suited to the role. To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:Mandatory Qualifications And Conditions:The recommended applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical as part of our selection process for this role.Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's license or equivalent.Possession of a Certificate III in Civil Construction applicable to modern transport infrastructure projects or ability to acquire one within 36 months.RoadTek civil construction workers are predominately employed in Asset Management business units located around the state, but at times may be asked to perform work in other business units on a temporary or permanent basis depending on business needs.RoadTek construction workers will be expected to gain and maintain competencies that are consistent with business needs (mainly mobility between business units), through participation in the Civil Trades Development Program (CTDP).Participation in Civil Trades Development Program (CTDP) is mandatory.A reasonable amount of travel consistent with industry standards will be required throughout the operational unit and/or the State.You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.Apply through the Smart jobs and careers website.
