Monadelphous are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Controller to join our PNG Operations team on a fixed-term basis, based in our Brisbane Head Office. Periodic travel to site in Papua New Guinea will be required.
This role will play a critical part in supporting project delivery through effective cost management, performance reporting, and commercial administration. You will bring strong experience in cost control, earned value management, invoicing, and claims, with the ability to work closely with project and commercial teams to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting across complex projects within the resources sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish and maintain project cost control systems aligned with company and project requirements
* Prepare and manage cost reports, performance reports, forecasts, cash flow, and variance analysis
* Support project commercial management through accurate tracking of commitments, actuals, and accruals
* Manage project invoicing, progress claims, and internal cost recovery processes
* Manage variations, claims, and changes to scope
* Provide cost and performance insight to project managers and senior stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with project controls procedures, financial governance, and audit requirements
* Work collaboratively with engineering, procurement, construction, and commercial teams
* Adapt to changing project priorities and reporting requirements
What You Will Bring
* 5-10 years' experience in senior cost control or project controls roles within the resources sector
* Proven experience in performance management, including earned value analysis and productivity reporting
* Strong experience in project invoicing, progress claims, and cost recovery
* Solid understanding of budgets, forecasting, cost reporting, and change management
* High level of accuracy, analytical capability, and attention to detail
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to build effective relationships with project and commercial stakeholders
* Previous Papua New Guinea experience (highly regarded)
* Proof of right to work in Australia and a valid passport
