The Opportunity:
Are you passionate about uncovering stories and delivering news that matter? 7News Regional is seeking a driven, multi‑skilled Journalist for our Seven Wagga newsroom. This is a great chance to work with Australian’s leading broadcast media organisation and will give you the opportunity to improve your journalism skills and take another step in your career.
Reporting to the Southern News Editor, the successful applicant would be responsible for sourcing and writing broadcast news in our vital Wagga Wagga news market.
What you’ll do:
- Generate original daily story ideas for on‑air presentations
- Interview, write and voice stories
- Develop and maintain contacts in the community
- Research and prepare news reports
- Create an effective and respectful rapport with internal and external stakeholders
What you’ll bring:
You are an experienced Journalist, a talented and motivated self‑starter who can effectively maintain high levels of personal organization and time‑management practices. You possess a creative mindset with energy, enthusiasm and a strong knowledge base in journalism. You’ll also bring:
- Tertiary qualification in journalism or communications
- Exceptional communication and written skills
- The ability to work to very tight/precise deadlines
