**About the role**:
The position of Education Facilitator-Fitness is responsible for the design, planning, delivery and evaluation of a range of education programs for prisoners in the area of Fitness. The role is focused on supporting students to improve and formalise competencies and expand skills to support successful reintegration into community upon release.

Acacia Prison is Western Australia’s largest prison located approximately 50 km east of Perth. The medium security facility operated by Serco is responsible for the management of 1520 male prisoners. **Key responsibilities**:
The following is provided as a general guide in relation to the requirements and objectives of this position. Staff may also be required to undertake any other activities as directed that are within the limits of their capabilities.
- Deliver scheduled training / education in accordance with the prison’s core day.
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Design, plan, deliver and evaluate education programs for prisoners.
- Resource development to meet the requirements of peer validation and RTO standards.
- Support students to improve and formalise competencies and expand skills to support successful reintegration into community upon release.
- Motivate and engage prisoners in learning and support students’ education from enrolment to completion of studies.
- Manage the Administration function and requirements of the role in a timely and accurate manner.
- Actively participate in and contribute to operational meetings, and other meetings as required of the position, including education, EVTU and RTO meetings.
- Develop / update and manage student education resources within relevant security requirements of the centre.
- Communicate with external stakeholders relevant to the development, management and completion of training, including the Department of Justice and associated RTO’s.
- Adhere to all security standards.

- Comply with legislation, policy, procedure, and practice requirements.
**Essential Criteria**:
- Cert lll or lV Fitness
- TAE40116 or sufficient to meet Schedule 1 in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations
- The highest level of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
- Ability to be open and adaptive to innovation and change.
- Ability to set and achieve professional goals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a work team and more broadly within the wider organisation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with varied stakeholders.
