Lead Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to join our team at Uungula Wind Farm, outside of Wellington, NSW.
As the Lead HSE Advisor you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our project meets and uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
You will oversee and drive the HSE function across Uungula and projects that may follow, ensuring compliance with legislation, company systems, and client requirements.
Leads investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
You will work with a team of passionate professionals on the project and on other projects nationwide, making a meaningful impact in creating a safer, eco-friendly work environment.
What you'll be doing:
Oversee and drive the HSE function across Uungula, ensuring compliance with legislation, company systems, and client requirements.
Lead incident investigations and risk assessments, providing recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Develop, implement, and monitor HSE management plans across all phases of the project.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and reviews of SWMS, permits, and other safety documentation.
Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations related to wind energy construction and operations.
Develop and implement emergency response plans, including first aid, evacuation, and crisis management procedures.
Provide HSE leadership and guidance to site teams, fostering accountability and best practice in all operations.
Develop, coordinate, and deliver safety and environmental training programs for employees and contractors.
Act as the key liaison between the company, clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure ongoing compliance for this project.
Identify and mitigate potential safety and environmental risks through proactive planning and monitoring.
Maintain comprehensive records and documentation of HSE activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to regulators.
Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and procurement of safety equipment to ensure compliance with required standards.
Promote a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility through communication, awareness, and engagement initiatives.
Champion continuous improvement by analysing trends, lessons learned, and audit outcomes to enhance HSE performance.
What we're looking for:
Diploma of WHS / Cert IV with minimum of 5 years' experience.
Proven experience in HSE roles, preferably in the construction or renewable energy industry.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local HSE regulations and guidelines.
ICAM Lead Investigator.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.

Fly in Fly out /Drive in Drive out (FIFO/DIDO) position with accommodation supplied 3/1 week off roster with 11 hour days.
