The Role
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering frontline services, including skills development and employment programs. You will work closely with our policy and program areas to provide strategic advice and guidance.
Our Division works closely with training and employment services providers, employers and industry associations to ensure our initiatives are effective and meet the needs of our stakeholders.
You will play a critical role in helping parents, young people, Indigenous Australians and people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds to overcome barriers to gain employment.
Responsibilities
* Analyse service provider performance objectively, using evidence to draw accurate conclusions and offer clear advice to support quality delivery. Share ideas, explore different views and keep others informed.
* Gather information from various sources, assess its relevance and communicate findings clearly in both written and verbal formats.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, understand their needs and present well-reasoned arguments when needed. Gain support for departmental initiatives.
* Understand broader factors affecting team goals, track progress and manage priorities. Find innovative solutions, challenge norms and resolve issues that impact outcomes.
* Work collaboratively, value diverse perspectives and use team strengths effectively. Plan work, manage tasks and adapt to different working styles.
* Provide leadership by guiding discussions, taking initiative and supporting team learning and development.
* Capture local intelligence to build knowledge of the labour market and skills landscape. Align work with departmental goals and contribute evidence-based ideas to policy and program design.
* Manage complex service delivery issues, escalate when needed and work toward resolution.
* Support branch activities and promote a positive workplace culture.
* Some domestic travel may be required, which may include overnight trips.
Qualifications and Education
* A minimum of Year 12 or equivalent, and/or relevant experience in program delivery or stakeholder engagement.
* Proficiency in Microsoft programs is essential.
* A valid driver's licence is also required.
