Capital Project Officer Job Description
The Capital Project Officer will be part of a small team responsible for delivering and managing capital infrastructure projects, procurements, contract management, and documentation. The role will collaborate with school facility managers, CEO staff, Principals, and external stakeholders and contractors on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in all activities required at schools and the Catholic Education office (CEO)
2. Implementation of policies and procedures concerning asset and facilities management at schools and the CEO
3. Manage construction projects end to end as assigned by the Infrastructure Manager
4. Manage external/internal contractors
5. Record keeping and asset data management
6. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Asset Management System (AMS) at both indigenous Catholic communities' schools (ICCS) and urban schools
7. Ensure WHS policies and procedures are implemented, enforced, and reviewed

9. Demonstrated experience in capital works-related project management
10. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in particular relating to technical aspects of building works
11. Ability to liaise and converse with people from different disciplines/backgrounds
12. Ability to travel and reside in remote Indigenous communities in the NT for short periods of time
13. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member
14. Demonstrated knowledge of WHS practices and procedures
15. Demonstrated knowledge of construction documentation/drawings
16. Excellent track record in meeting deadlines and responding in a timely manner
17. An organised approach to manage large amounts of detailed information with minimal supervision
18. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with stakeholders
