The role
Our client supplies cutting-edge machinery to steel fabricators across Australia and New Zealand, offering a range of machine cutting, folding solutions, and more. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a mechanically skilled Service Technician to support installation, servicing, and customer support across a broad range of structural steel equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and maintain CNC structural steel fabrication equipment on client sites
- Perform diagnostics, breakdown repairs, and mechanical adjustments
- Interpret technical drawings and use precision instruments
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams for issue resolution
- Ensure compliance with site safety and environmental policies
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of service work
- Manage domestic and international travel logistics as required
About You:
- Trade-qualified fitter or technician, ideally with experience on CNC or structural steel machinery
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems independently
- Good communicator, well-organised, and safety focused
- Willing to travel across Australia and New Zealand, with potential for overseas training
- Holds a valid driver's licence and an unrestricted passport
- Confident using service reporting tools and structured documentation
