We are seeking a passionate and committed instructional leader for the position of Head of Department - The Arts (Locally known as Leader of Learning - Creative Industries).
Central to the role is leading a multidisciplined curriculum team including dance, music, drama, visual art and media arts. Murrumba also offers two Program of Excellence within the faculty - Dance Academy and High Performing Music.
This position is temporary for term 1, 2026 with possibility of extension. This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

Step Into Your Next Chapter
As a Head of Department, the successful applicant will have a responsibility as a Pride Leader for selected students in Doherty House. This responsibility involves tracking, monitoring and actioning engagement data (attendance and behaviour) and support the wellbeing of students in two Pride Classes through our vertical house structure.
Responsibilities Include
* Lead curriculum, teaching and learning of the faculty to deliver quality learning outcomes for all students
* Track and monitor student academic progress in all year levels
* Set high standards for student and staff performance
* Ensure compliance of College processes with the regulatory framework and VET standards (QCAA and ASQA), including building staff capability in this area
* Ensure compliance of internal VET documents for the qualifications on our scope
* Monitor and track the completion and attainment of student VET studies
* Have a strong understanding of VET (or can demonstrate ability / capacity to develop in this space)
* Form partnerships with students, parents, external providers and the wider college community
