About the role
Experienced Allied Health Assistant or looking to start in healthcare – this is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door and begin a career in NSW Health. Relevant Allied Health Assistant qualifications or experience are welcome, but not essential.
Allied Health Assistants work alongside healthcare professionals such as Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists to support patient care and help services run smoothly.
We are looking for someone who is friendly, caring and motivated to learn, to join our Nutrition & Dietetics team. If you enjoy working with people, have an interest in food, nutrition and health and want a role where you can learn on the job, this could be a great place to start.
Responsibilities
* Work with Dietitians to help hospital patients get the right meals and drinks for their health needs.
* Help patients choose meals, check food orders and ensure the kitchen has the correct information.
* Assist with administration, using computers, email and Microsoft programs, and learn new systems.
* Operate on a rotating 7‐day roster, including afternoon shifts, weekends and public holidays, and receive penalty rates (PM shifts +10-12.5%, Sat +50%, Sun +75%, Public holidays +150%).

* Interest in food, nutrition and health.
* Comfortable using computers, email and Microsoft Office; willingness to learn new systems.
* Availability to work a rotating 7‐day roster, including afternoon shifts, weekends and public holidays.
