About the Business Unit
Strategic Communication delivers media and communication services on behalf of the Department of Justice and Community Safety's (DJCS) business units to inform and educate the community about departmental policies, programs and legislation.
About the Role
The Senior Adviser, Media provides high-level media and communication support and advice to the department's business units, senior executives and ministerial offices.
Some of your duties will include:
Providing high-level media support and advice to key stakeholders including senior executives on short-term and long-term strategies
Promoting initiatives and policies through the media and respond to media enquiries
Developing and implementing effective communication strategies to inform the public and external key stakeholders of issues and policies and support department priorities

About You
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
A proven track record of managing complex media issues, developing and implementing media strategies, and providing strategic communications and media advice to senior stakeholders
Demonstrated knowledge of State Government and department communication policies and processes is preferred
Qualifications/Requirements
A tertiary qualification in journalism, public relations or other communication-related discipline is desirable.
