Overview
Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking a Sr. Workplace Events Manager & Team Lead to join our client's embedded event team in Sydney, Australia. This role is the primary client contact, accountable for program governance, team leadership, and delivery of 100+ workplace events annually, managing a team of event managers globally.
We are looking for a mission-driven people leader with strengths in event design, execution, and strategic planning. This is a 60% hands-on delivery / 40% leadership role. The ideal candidate will come up to speed quickly and build strong trust with client stakeholders and the Crawford team.

Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for client stakeholders, building trusted relationships at all levels
* Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 5 direct reports across multiple global regions
* Provide mentorship and identify areas of growth
* Assign new programs/events based on capacity, expertise, and regional alignment
* Meet weekly with team to understand current programs, bandwidth, and challenges
* Coordinate with AMER-based Sr. Event Manager for cross-time-zone coverage, continuity, and escalation support
* Continue to develop the team and identify opportunities to manage scope
* Forecast and manage surge capacity planning and resource allocation during peak periods
* Develop relationships with key stakeholders and partners to provide a collaborative and cohesive work environment
* Identify gaps in processes and develop efficiencies
* Develop and own the events strategy and roadmap aligned with client priorities and objectives
* Drive and develop event strategy and creative ideation/forward thinking, bringing industry relevance and knowledge
* Accountable for overall program metrics, budgets, SLAs, KPIs, and quality standards across the team portfolio
* Lead QBRs, monthly check-ins, and reporting on budget adherence, SLAs, and KPIs
* Manage large scale program budgets and individual event budgets; track actual expenses against forecasts and ensure effective cost controls
* Own business continuity plans and incident response protocols
* Ensure all events and vendor activities comply with client legal, privacy, and security requirements
* Maintain and update event documentation, SOPs, playbooks, and knowledge base
* Drive events production schedules and production meetings with cross-organizational teams
* Manage sourcing venues, event vendors for contract, invoices, and billing for approval and execution
* Manage all contracted external vendors from preproduction, onsite execution, to post event wrap up
* Actively manage VIP level employee-facing events and liaise between internal partners and external vendors for flawless event execution as well as to support the company's overall brand and corporate vision; provide white glove experience, attention to detail, project management and strong communications
* Manage hybrid and virtual event formats, including technology platforms and attendee experience
* Oversee registration management, attendee communications, and feedback collection
* Gather feedback and event metrics such as attendance, estimated cost per person, and stakeholder satisfaction; deliver post event reports
* Conduct post-event debriefs, capture learnings, and drive continuous improvement
Requirements
* Senior-level employee event program/project manager with 10+ years of experience
* Must be a people leader with 5+ team management experience (global a plus)
* Proven experience with enterprise technology or software companies
* Demonstrated success managing high-volume event portfolios (100+ events annually)
* Experience with global enterprise employee-centered gatherings and events
* Experience with hybrid and virtual event production and technology platforms
* Strong budget management, vendor negotiation, and financial accountability skills
* Experience managing geographically distributed teams across multiple time zones
* Familiarity with Australian employment and compliance requirements
* Must be organized, detail oriented, a self starter, proactive
* Be a smart and resourceful individual and team player
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a highly complex matrix
* Ability to drive to tight deadlines

* Travel: Up to 20%
