Defence Vehicle Technician
The role involves performing maintenance, repairs and authorised structural and component modifications to Defence vehicles, plant, equipment and components.
This will involve using various welding methods including electric arc, MIG and TIG welding or oxyacetylene welding or by machine in accordance with instructions and procedure.
The key responsibilities include:
* Conducting maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classification.
* Examine detailed drawings or specifications to find out job, material and equipment requirements.
* Heat treat metal parts and components.
* Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment.
* Assemble parts and structures by lining up and joining them by welding, bolting or riveting.
Requirements
* Cert III Engineering - Boilermaker or Fabricator is required.
* Relevant previous experience as a Welder is essential.
* Australian Citizenship is required and the ability to maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
