We are seeking applications for a Mammographer in Charge for our Cairns Region.
About the role
The Mammographer in Charge will oversee the delivery of Mammography services and provide training and support to the Cairns Radiography team. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure top-quality service and care for women's health in the community.
This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to be rostered across various shifts on a rotating roster. You will work alongside a dedicated team of radiologists, technical and administrative professionals committed to providing exceptional service to patients and referrers.
You will also provide valuable support and mammography training to staff in the Cairns Region while assisting with staffing matters, including rostering, recruitment, and performance management. Travel to other practices for staff coverage or meetings may be required.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-level medical imaging services adhering to professional standards and clinical protocols.
* Maintain expert clinical knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development and training.
* Provide expert clinical advice to patients, healthcare professionals, and the Cairns leadership team regarding service delivery.
* Oversee the training, development, and performance appraisal of staff within your modality.
* Initiate and lead service improvement activities to enhance operational efficiency and quality of care.
* Ensure compliance with Queensland X-ray quality and safety standards in all clinical practices.
* Promote a clean and safe work environment while liaising with equipment suppliers for maintenance and training.
* Supervise and mentor students and less experienced practitioners, fostering a culture of clinical leadership and excellence.
* Collaborate with practice leaders across Cairns and QXR wide to ensure effective service delivery and enhance quality outcomes.
About you
* AHPRA registration and QLD Radiation Use Licence are required.
* Advanced level clinical skills in general radiography and Mammography are essential.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for building and maintaining positive relationships with patients, referring doctors, and other medical imaging team members.
* Ongoing commitment to skill development, personal and professional growth, is expected.
* Leadership qualities and passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences are desired.
