About the job
Position: Sales Engineer (permanent/part-time/fixed-term/casual)
Location: Sydney or Melbourne
Responsibilities:
* Drive sales of technical products and solutions from our partners IBM, AWS, and other companies in the AI, cyber security and data science space.
* Closely work with our partners to be trained in the use of their products and solutions – obtain necessary certifications where required.
* Develop thorough knowledge on the technical products and solutions that are targeted to be sold, including aspects of pricing, cost vs benefit analysis etc.
* Collect, analyse and prepare insights on industry and market intelligence – understand market demands, competitor offerings and positioning strategies.
* Obtain customer requirements by closely working with decision makers and develop use cases for product/solution deployments.
* Prepare sales proposals, presentations and quotations for customers.
* Conduct technical workshops and product demos for customers.
* Build, develop and maintain long-term stakeholder relationships.
* Provide sales support by responding to customers on their queries and liaise with our partners to address them satisfactorily.
* Assist in preparing and submitting tenders.
Experience:
* 2+ years of experience working in a sales engineering/pre-sales/technical consulting/product development/solutions architect role, preferably in cybersecurity, AI, data science, cloud computing, enterprise software solutions.
* Working with startups/SMEs to sell technical products and solutions.
Requirements:
* Very good understanding of IBM and AWS products, services and solutions.
* Good knowledge of technologies such as DevOps tools, AI/ML platforms, Cyber security tools, IaaS etc.
* Good knowledge of APIs and system integration.
* Good knowledge of technical economics, pricing and monetisation.
* Good knowledge of sales processes and how technical sales are negotiated.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
* Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
* Ability to work independently as well as in an outcome-driven team environment.
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science/computer engineering/IT or equivalent.
* IBM/AWS-issued certifications / other technical certifications (preferred).
* Sales/marketing/economics related studies/certifications (preferred).
